Reef octopus skimmer with aquatrance pump

I have a reef octopus sro2000 skimmer and replaced my pump with a aquatrance 2000 pump and its not bubling up skimmer neck like it doesn't have anough power.Any suggestions

Was the original pump a pin wheel ?

the pins around the wheel almost chop the bubbles brought in from the Venturi , smaller bubbles are what makes the skimmer work .

swapping pumps can mean not enough air to make the skimmer work efficiently

Reef Octopus told me I needed the 2000s aqua trance pump for the reef octopus 2000int skimmer
