Reef octopus skimmer with aquatrance pump

I have a reef octopus 200 skimmer and replaced my pump with a aquatrance 2000 pump and its not bubling up skimmer neck like it doesn't have anough power.Any suggestions

If it's the classic 200 int, it is supposed to have the aquatrance 3000.

If you have your valve all the way closed and it still doesn't come up or loses all it's air bubbles it will never work. The only way would be to leave the level low in the body and skim super dry.

Yes it's all the way closed.On reef octopus site it says the 2000s is for the 2000int skimmer
