I want to run a line outside a window to keep PH down.Vent outside the cabinet?
i think fiehofhex has a recirculating air mod for this exact same skimmer. i was thinking of getting it tooI want to run a line outside a window to keep PH down.
I dont think you need to do any real modification to it, just run the line out of a window or drill a wall. You wont need an air silencer as the end of the line isnt under the tank just add and air valve to control air intake. Not sure if that answered what you were looking for thoughI want to run a line outside a window to keep PH down.
Ah...Check me to see if I'm following...I can remove the white cap at the end of the tube, and tie in some tubing to the existing tube that is in there and run outside? I guess the cap with the hole in it on top doesn't really serve a functional purpose? Thank you!I dont think you need to do any real modification to it, just run the line out of a window or drill a wall. That is an air silencer as the air intake makes a slight whistle sound. Outside you wont hear it so no point for the silencer anymore, you can just run the air straight from the body of the pump to outside with a valve (https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/imagitarium-air-control-valve), you may want some sort of filter even just a diy one with just disposible polyfilter in a bubble counter (here is one on petco https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/fluval-plant-co2-bubble-counter ) to make sure no dust builds up in the unit. Other than that I wouldnt worry too much.Ah...Check me to see if I'm following...I can remove the white cap at the end of the tube, and tie in some tubing to the existing tube that is in there and run outside?
