Reef octopus

I just got a used hang on back 2000 I put it in my sink cleaned it and tried to run it with fresh water all I get is large bubbles no foam is this do to it being in fresh water not saltwater? Any help would be nice

Also is a 2000 to big for my 30 gal nano?

The 2000 is probably oversized, so it may not skim consistently..time to upgrade tanks! Haha
And yes it will not skim or produce correct bubbles in freshwater

I have a 54 gallon bowfront that I turned into a reef ready tank and I am running a Reef Octo classic 110 in mine

I had a 2000 on my old 75. Should work fine. The collection cup can fill up quick though. Takes a little while to dial in but produces good skim imo

Yes fresh water you get large bubbles

Got it installed and it's running great no skim as of this morning but maybe tonight.
