my parameters are
Nitrate 20ppm
Calcium 500
Phosphate 0
Ammonia 0
Dkh 12.5
Magnesium 1,500
Sg 1.025

why are some so high? Will it negatively affect fish/anemones/coral? How can I lower them?

What salt mix are you using? Some of them are really high in specific elements.

Water changes will help bring things in line if your freshly made saltwater parameters are in line with your targets (check before using)..

The biggest thing I would be concerned about is your Alk at 12.5 especially with no P04.

Test a new batch of salt, as suggested.

Since alk, calcium and magnesium are all high this could be a salinity problem. Make sure what you are using to test salinity is reliable and calibrated.

+1. High alk and no PO4 won’t be healthy for corals. These parameters are more concerning for SPS. Easier corals like zoas will be more forgiving. As for anemones, I wouldn’t go there.

I’m using instant ocean sea salt.

I’m using instant ocean sea salt.

I would make a fresh batch, make absolutely sure salinity is correct and test all parameters of your fresh mixed instant ocean.. not unheard of getting an occasional bad batch of salt mix. Having your LFS double check your test results wouldn’t be a bad idea either.
