reef-pi :: An opensource reef tank controller based on Raspberry Pi.

We have plans to do a holistic customizable ui work.including the chart bounds as well as themes for the ui. But nothing concrete yet. I’ll keep you all posted. My current focus will be wrap up few drivers (Shelly and may be dli) followed by some other planned features for 4.0

Set up your adafruit feeds...you can set up graphs any way you want then.

I've had issues with this in the past, and it still appears to not be working.. is it as simple as entering the username and secret key into Reef-Pi? How long does the feed take? Adafruit IO still doesn't show any feeds incoming.

Username...secretkey...then RELOAD reef-pi.
Give it a few moments then go to adafruit and see if there are any feeds listed.

Aww.. geez... reload. yeah, thanks! Works now!
Reload gets me every time. It would be nice to prompt for reload any time a user makes a change that requires it. That kind of change is typically pretty low priority, but it could make a good entry level task for anyone interested in starting reef-pi/react development.

ok, so.. I see all the metrics now in AIO, but they aren't getting any data for the feed.. thoughts?

I haven't used the Adafruit feeds, but I think a common problem is using dashes, spaces, or special characters in the feed name.

Yes thats correct. Change to names with just characters and underscores.

Also you.only get 10 free feeds on a free adafruit account. The extras after 10 will not show. My workaround was to set up reef-pi with the 10 metrics I wanted. Then setup adafruit. Get those feeds going...then setup the rest of reef pi and the extra feeds after the 1st 10 wont go anywhere but you will get the 1st 10.

As an example
I set up my 3 temp sensors, ph, 4 light pwm channels and the mem and cpu usage. Then i set up adafruit. After that I set up my temp controllers which are counted as feeds but since they were set up last they are feeds 11 ans 12 and wont show on adafruit
If i set up the temp controllers first they would take up 2 of 10 feeds. In other words feeds are set up first come.first served. So set them up in order..reload...check feeds and go from there

You're a beast!

Well I hit the Kickstarter button this evening, here's a link if anyone is interested.

You have some great all in one solutions there for all ranges of skillsets. DiY or buy a premade "reef-pi in a box" !!!

I've heard about Reef-pi from people over the years but never really looked at it, some were telling me I should make boards but I always thought that was off limits. Now I can go crazy. :) And yes good job by all!
