@Aaron Smith provided a lot of guidance around gfci and surge protection earlier. I had also some inputs on the 'resident electrician ' thread under diy forum on using receptacles by @Brew12It should be fine on the timer tab.
On another note, who is the resident electrician who was also tinkering with Reef-pi?
Notably aaron is probably the first and earliest user of reef -pi (pre 0.1) on r2r@Aaron Smith provided a lot of guidance around gfci and surge protection earlier. I had also some inputs on the 'resident electrician ' thread under diy forum on using receptacles by @Brew12
Hugs , you all are equally important, I alone cant test it or make a community around it. Community is the life support of any thriving open source project.Yes, Thanks Ranjib! I am not sure you realize how much we appreciate your hard work.
I'll be adding a wave maker tab as well… the idea is to provide presets through that tab, other than ability to choose ac/DC based pumpsA seperate tab for doser makes sense, but then again, if the timer tab is very basic, it would eventually need an upgrade as well. I personally don't use a doser, or at least notplanning on it in the near future, so I am in the same boat as Cary. sounds like i can use the doser as a powerhead controller, so i am just looking forward to it either ways. thanks and hope you had fun in Hawaii!
Yeah. Looking at some other proprietary controllers , they use timerssecond thought timers should be fine less clutter
I think I'll do both, have a separate controller tab, as well as improve the timer tab for better user experienceYeah. Looking at some other proprietary controllers , they use timers
Not a surfer, but I do snorkeling;-I probably won't use the doser tab, but I can see a reason for both the timer tab and the doser tab.
Now, where are those surfing pictures? ;-)
.I'll upload some pics shortlyNot a surfer, but I do snorkeling.I'll upload some pics shortly
Sweetlove this case lots of room for extra circuitry

@marspeed how much space we have for extra circuitry, I can use that to deduce the right breadborad or perfboard or permaproto board. I am curious to know if we can consider this as a standard / recommended housing (even for temperature, lighting etc controller... anything that has no electricl receptacles)Sweet
Yes, thru hole components are easier for everyone who is going to do DIY and hand soldering. We can always convert it to smd conterparts as and when pcb designs are concrete. I am in process of creating fritzing projects for each of this, albeit they need more love, they'll provide a good starting point for those who are more familiar with pcb manufacturing process.. i plan to seek community help around this in next maker faire.dimensions can be found here two sizes large and small https://www.adafruit.com/product/3570
there is quite a bit of room should easily hold circuitry I was playing around with a PCB design to combine all the current components I like to keep my designs simple by using thru hole components so others less inclined can assemble them I will at least design one for myself
