Chief, I got I beta test this light. It's pretty cool. Fully adjustable with a manual control from your phone and programmable with up to 24 time points. The app is straight forward and pretty intuitive. Fire off whatever questions you have an I'll see what I can answer for ya

For starters will corals benefit more from a 4500k white spectrum or a 6500k? I've seen different manufactures use different spectrums but am wondering which spectrum of white would be ideal for coral growth. My gut wants to go with thee 6500k but I'm not sure. Also, how does the application connect to the fixture? Bluetooth, wifi....? If I loose power will the fixture reset or will I have to reprogram the fixture?

Spectrum wise I'm not sure. There are probably people on both sides of that one. It connects by wifi built into the light. It keeps your program during a power loss. You can edit programming while not connected if you choose and upload it later.

I ordered my 165p from Rick with the controller, and can WAIT to use it !
It will replace my Kessil 150w sky blue.
I also got the light mount.

This will be on my wife's 29g BioCube and will be awesome !

What is the spread/coverage on the 165p? Plan on mounting it up high on a 58 gallon ( same footprint as a 40breeder but taller)

I believe,...it's 24", so on a 48" tank you can hook 2 of them together.

will i be able to connect it to a reef keeper not a apex

hi everyone - with your permission i will address all posts at once. Firstly - macna was a very big success for us - even though some exhibitors complained about wthat they perceived as a lack of attendees. We became a digital aquatics distributor there - which i have wanted to sell for some time now and finalized our deal to distribute reef angel. We have been working for some time now on a unique project and finally 5 of our lights can be controlled by apex and reef keeper and reef angel controllers. This is harder than it would seem as most value lights are designed from the start to work with manual dimmers - not electronic controllers. That said - we got it done and these are now available on our site. We also unveiled the dm-165p - which is the first fully programmable - full power - full spectrum led light under $200. I have been working on this for two years and now it is a reality. You cannot control it with any controller - it has a built in controller so you would not need to. If you want to control one of our lights with any of the controllers i name above - you can purchase the dm-132e or the coral pro or the dm-1655 or dm-165p.
