Reef Radiance led light..OMG..What a light....

I just finished setting up my Reef Radiance lights I got about a month ago. I bought 2 Lumentek 120 Pro to light my 75 gallon DT. OMG am I impressed. Not only do the coral colors look so much better, but I have already noticed a big jump in growth. My lights are 10 inches from bottom of light to water surface. Here's the part that Impressed me SO much, I took PAR reading with an Apogee Par Meter. In the center of my tank at the bottom of tank I'm getting reading of an avg of 350....this is with the lights only set on 82% WOW! Impressive. Around the edges at bottm of tank the lowest reading I could find was 225 ish range. My corals are loving these lights as much as I do.....lol Thank you So Much Rick! Great quality products at great prices compare to other makers of LEDS. I tried other makers of lights and Hands downs Reef Radiance Lights WIN! Over & over. I'm sold from now on they will be the only lights I spend my money on. Thanks again for Great products and great service Rick.

I agree with FnF. We had the 132e and I was extremely impressed with it. I want to swap my two 250w mh out for leds in the next couple months and I will be going with RR for sure.

What would you recommend to put over a standard 65g with a cross brace. 36" long and 24" deep? Right now I have two 150w HQI with 3x39w T5 supplements. but have been thinking about making "the switch".

A standard 65 is 48 inches left to right. I am not understanding your description - send me all 3 dimensions - okay?

I see that Marineland sells this tank as a rectangular tank - not a standard - as this is not the standard ( common ) dimensions of a 65 gallons tank. That is what threw me off. That said - I know what you have now and will be glad to help you make " the switch ".

Are you looking for dimmable or programmable?

It is a silly thing to argue over but I have never seen a 65g 48" long tank in my life. Non programmable, just dimmable is what I would be interested in.

I get asked which light would be best over them everyday - which is why I was confused by your question. It does not matter what someone else has though - as you have what you have. The challenge of your tank is the left to right dimension. The standard coverage of a pendant light is about 24 inches by 24 inches. So you could use two of the DM-155e over this tank and do really well - or you could try one of the same lights and raise it higher and see how that does by itself.

I wanted to share my recent upgrade to the Lumentek Pro 240. I also opted for the mounting kit and I'm so glad I did! This light is great. Much brighter that the 2 LEDs I previously had. I went from 110 LEDs to 80 with the Lumentek and it's BRIGHTER! I love the programming options I have now. Going from 4 power cables and 2 kitchen timer to a single power cord and controller has been the best investment ever.

Anyone thinking about the mounting kit, DO IT! Took me all of 2 minutes to get it on the light and tank. It actually took me longer to find my screwdriver lol. I'll let my FTS speak for the light and the kit.

3 155e's running blues at 50% and whites, greens and reds at 25%. Today is the fist day running them. I plan to raise the amounts to a final 10 to 15 more on each channel after they get used to them. Went from 3 HQI 150 watt 14k bulbs and 4 96 watt PC 50/50 450/420nm bulbs. What a drop in power consumption. Don't hold me to the math just yet but at least 6 less amps per hour and 6Kw less per day. My heater is now running lol. I didn't have to use a chiller before but nice to know heat soak into the tank from lighting.

Lights are 9.5" off water at moment.

Excellent Joe, nice to see them up and running on your tank. You still may need to drop the Blue channel down a bit, 40% on this fixture is still a lot of light in comparison to what you had. I'll get my DM-155e into my shop today to play with and give you a call later with findings. Very impressive fixture so far, definitely an improvement over my EverGrow fixture quality of components wise especially the fans, finish etc... I cannot help myself to not taking everything apart to see how it ticks and what it's made of....lol
I have a Seneye ~ Reef Monitor coming in and will run PAR and Spectrum tests with the Dm-155e -vs- the EverGrow and my own DIY array later this week.

Still thinking of changing the drivers to a non pwm driver like mean well 60 48D. I'm not sure about turning the blues down. All the corals look great and still seams less bright than before but I do understand that the LEDs have more usable spectrum and pur over the old lights. Will be interesting to see what readings you get too. I'll give you a text when I get back to the house.

What size tank will you be taking the PAR readings on? I'll be looking fwd to those for sure! I'm close to pulling the plug & making the switch from HID's& T5's to the DM 155's.

For those concerned with par. This is 100% blue, 35% white at the top of the water in a 40 breeder with a lumentek pro 240.

I have the same light from Rick, but it will be a while before I get my 75g in wall reef done, but playing around with the light, it looks and works great.
