Nice, I was looking at making something similar. Something smaller but would hold the light up. Out of curiosity high up are your lights above your tank? And how long is your tank?

Well I got my Lumentek 240 later last year around December or so and I had to send it back due to issues with the controller. Most of the things were timing of the clock and preview of the light cycle, also the switching modes part. I have been waiting but Rick has been keeping me updated the progress of the fix. I took down my tank but I may just have to buy another 240 for the 150g build I might do. Can't wait to get my light back though holy smokes.

Need to do somthing like this with my 210. Hate the fact that my canopy when open tilts up. Its great for spot feeding coral or if a frag falls. But the day to day feeding sucks. Well time to feed. Sweetie watch ur eyes..... And i would like to raise my vegas up a little bit higher. But i need to have a shield to block it from the front or I'll never stop hearing the girlfriend complain about the light bothering her....

I tilt the lights toward the back of the tank a bit to help avoid blinding folks when viewing the tank.

I noticed my 120 has issues with the clock gaining time, it will occasionally come out of custom mode all by itself, and when I tried to preview, the lights stay off while the controller goes through all the steps. I thought the lights were supposed to come on and go through all the steps.

Yeah Rick told me the issues were in the controller. It would turn off sometimes as well or just switch modes and stay there at full tilt all day. They are supposed to go through the program for whatever you set, it was just a a glitch in mine. My preveiw also stopped working as well. It would go through the steps but its supposed to show you the lights as well when it does it.

Mine never lights up during the preview. Just marches through the settings

Mine did at first but then it stopped. It worked fine for awhile. I was really worried when I would come home on the weekend at night and it would be at full tilt sunlight.

Hmm mine has always just cycled through the steps on the screen. Never changed the lights

Mine just started going into sun mode in the middle of the day and my clock gains 10 min a week I reset the clock and set sun to 40% until a fix is avalable

Hopefully Rick will respond to these questions about the updated controller and when they will be available/shipped out.

In the meantime, kudos to the person who mentioned turning off the display (left arrow toggles it). Since I've done that, my 240 hasn't spontaneously gone into sunlight mode. Clock is still off, though.

Rick said the new controllers are in and they were just getting their California store underway so I know that was a burden and therefore slowing things down. I am totally confident in the light and their service. Anything could happen with any light, its just a matter of how good their service is and Rick and his team are spot on. I had great growth and color on my coral when my 240 was up. I will more then likely purchase another one for the 150 I am snagging this weekend.

has anyone purchased a Dm-132e fixture lately. I just got one and they are definitely to much blue on one side and to much white on the other . my tank is half blue and half white. not satisfied with the look. i thought maybe they messed up or forget to re arrange the colors around , but i emailed rick and he said its perfectly fine and that thats how the new model Dm-132e is set up. Here is some pics. Look at each side of the light . there is pure blue bulbs on one side and pure white on the other.

Hi Chris,

I am reading your post and want to clarify that " there is pure blue bulbs on one side and and pure white on the other " is not correct. You can look at the picture above and see that this light is not all white on one side and all blue on the other. Clearly. When you emailed me I shared that this was in fact the way the newer DM-132e was currently designed. There is more blue on one side then the other and more white on one side then the other. Yep. And you don't like it a lot. Not everyone is going to like every light we sell - that is why we have different lights for different needs and different customers. I think this really leads us to the discussion we should be having. "Hey Rick - I am not loving the light I got." That is what we should be discussing.
