Reef Radiance led light..OMG..What a light....

TrPPnN... why would you bother posting that here? Unless you're a reseller or mfg of another light, what purpose does that comment serve in a thread for people who are obviously very happy with ReefRadiance lights?

No one has ever said that Reef Radiance lights are the greatest lights in the world and have the highest build quality ever.

Value should be the most important consideration for anyone in any purchase - whether hobby related or not.

For people in this thread, myself included, RR is the best value on the market.

Go elsewhere if you want to debate build quality.

Let's not fall victim to this guys true intentions. Getting us off topic about sharing our experiences and praise of a good product. If you're not a reseller and just an end user. Then why would you be on the sponsor thread of Reef led lights saying we developed the genesis somethin or the other...hmmm! Lets just ignore and continue with what this thread is about. I'm done.

And as if all the parts of a radion are made in America I think not. Go away! Just because the lights are made in china doesn't mean that Rick or other companies don't design the paticular fixture they. Are selling.

If American companies weren't so greedy to make so much money we would make everything here.

I would by a 155 reef radiance over a ecotech any day. The three I have work great and I would need six radions to do what my three do.

Just sent rick a message but felt like it should be said in public to. The apex capability for the lights is something probably most of us had wanted. But budgets being a limiting factor we went with a great light that could control itself. Can still be turned off if needed by apex. Then rick drops the bomb that new versions of the lights are apex compatible. Great. Perfect for people that are considering reef radiance. As if there weren't enough reasons to go with this brand. Then the bigger bomb that there are retro kits. How many other company's would have just let it be that the old stuff is outdated and if you want the ability to hook them to apex then buy some new ones. Just another example of the customer service and respect for people that have invested in their product.

I have addressed this point countless times - but will again. There are many great products made in any country and poor ones as well. No one country has a monopoly on building better products all the time - even the US. Ever see a Edsel? Your assumption that products made in China are not made as well as products made in the US or Germany is way off the mark. Are you saying that Apple or Samsung or Hewlett Packard are lousy products because they are made in China? The key is to buy from reputable factories that can manufacture great products at a fair price. As we do. We vet every factory we buy from very carefully and have established and long-term relationships with them.

You also state that we sell lights under other names on eBay and elsewhere. This is not true. Firstly - we don't sell lights on eBay and secondly - any light by us is sold under the Reef Radiance or LUMENTEK brand.

Frankly, the inaccuracy and clear bias in your posts leads me to believe you have some other agenda.

Wouldn't be the first time one of the large lighting companies had someone post nonsense like this.

Good catch.

It is very evident the big lighting companies in the US feel threatened by us. As they should. They have been selling gimmicky over-priced lights for a long time now and when someone can provide a well built and full-featured light for a fair price - as opposed to responding to market conditions and lowering the price on their products - they go after the company that threatens their monopoly with this same type of nonsense.

What is very cool here - is that he got shot down so quickly and loudly by people who actually own our products and have experienced first hand what they can get at a reasonable price from us.

WE MAY OFFER THIS KIT FOR THE LUMENTEK LINE- BUT LABEL IT AN "EXPERT" UPGRADE - WHICH MEANS THAT THE CUSTOMER OR SOMEONE THEY KNOW HAS TO HAVE A HIGH DEGREE OF EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCE TO BUY AND INSTALL THE KIT.
