I've been there, I've seen the corals, they did have some very nice wild colonies with some great colors. Those are some of the famous ones you guys know. I also know that most of those colonies were lost and don't know of anyone that has been able to grow out frags from those colonies and have them resemble anything near what you see in the photos. I'm sure the acro that started this thread is quite nice. I'm also quite sure it's a frag from a wild colony, is blasted with blue light, tweaked as a photo and probably won't keep it's color.

Don't know exactly who you are... You from US or Canada?

Wow that acro is incredible. Way out of my price range normally, but if I was to stumble upon a frag I don't think I'd be able to pass it up. Not something you see everyday.

From the US, but have been to your shop in Toronto. You guys were cool with me, but I've seen first hand and on forums the dislike a lot people in the GTA have for your shop. I'm sure that has something do with with how much stuff you've sent to the US and the general dislike for Americans as well as how prices have steadily increased.

I'm happy to see I was wrong about the piece not making it to Canada. Hopefully it is as stunning at the photo and that it grows well and keeps its color for the people that get it.

Unfortunately in this business... You will never please anyone. There will always be an issue. One day they are the most loyal customers and the next day could be your bitter fan who will go in distance to trash and bash you when things dont go to their favor....

Ike you are sooo right when you say there are many people in canada who dislikes us but almost all of them you will see back in the shop. Yes they dont like the idea that we send most of the HIGHEND pieces in the US because we know we can get a bit more higher price than to sell local. Many aquarists or hobbyists in canada loves to have nice corals in their tank but dont want to pay the price.

If only everyone knows the exact situations on how hard it is to obtain and find nice corals then we wouldnt be discussing like this now.

That's simply not true. I know of many beloved stores in the industry. One of them a short distance from my house and several others throghout the US. However, there's also a store that is regularly basked in the area. They don't greet you when you walk in the door, they're not very friendly once you do talk to them (at least not unless you go out of your way to be friendly with them), and their prices are crazy high. That was basically my experience in Reef Raft Canada, but Jay was friendly enough once I went out of my way to talk to him. I had been in the store for 15-20 minutes and was the only customer and was not spoken prior to that point. Most people in my experience aren't so forgiving of not being acknowledged. I think people would overlook the higher prices if you guys were friendly and responsive to people that enter your store. But, maybe you guys don't care so much for the retail side of things...

No, you don't manufacture corals. But you manufacture your reputation, the customer experiemce, the hype surrounding those corals, and the photos that represent them.

Has anybody been able to get there hands on the reef raft jawdropper acro? I've been looking with no success and if you do have it dose it hold its color?
