if i buy rock that is being cured right now and let it dry out will i have to recure it before i use it?

yes...

If you are buying it just to dry it out, just get the rock from BRS. You will get more rock for the money as you won't be paying for the water weight.

the rock ill be getting is from BRS that a buddy has. hes had it in water for 4 months now curing. there isnt any thing else in this water but the rock. but if i have to cure it then i guess ill jsut stay dry. the only issue i have is i dont want to spend months cureing the rock. i want to just add it and go once i get my tank. if i have to cure the rock what the best way to do it.

You cannot rush things in this hobby. You need to let the tank cycle even with fully cured live rock.

I started my tank all dry and let it cycle in the tank. I used a dead shrimp to cycle it and it took about 6 weeks to fully be done. This will be your best option with the dry rock. Be sure to add a small piece of good live rock from another tank to seed the corraline and some of the bacteria to help the cycle along.

im going to try dr tims on this new tank to see if it helps the cycle.

search you tube on making your own ,looks like fun to me.

yea no sense buying cured just to dry it out and have to do it all over.
