Hi,
I bought some reef roids the other week , i used about 3/4 of a teaspoon with a small amount of water and target fed with no worries.
This week i mixed 1 teaspoon with water and broadcast fed ,(turned all pumps off both times)
Well this time , my tank has gone cloudy and my filter sock turned orange aswell as my clear reactor outlet tube and a bit in my HOB etc.
I have since read not to use as much .( my tank/sump has over 100 gal total water)
Will the reminates dissolve eventually or do i need to get in and clean?
Do i need to water change to solve the cloudyness?
Also do i need to remove filter sock for a day or two after feeding etc.
Thanks
Mark

I would never broadcast feed RR just stick to target feeding and your other organisms will still get some benefits from drifting food while your feeding.. trying to clean some of it up and a water change is probably a good idea.

Its gona get cloudy that’s the point of keeping food available but depending on how many coral you have I would cut back on feeding amount target feed less but more often as needed
Keep a eye on your parameters never hurts to do a water change clean your sock extra wasting food can lead to issues

Personally I think the dosage recommendations are way too high. I use about 1/4 teaspoon each time and make sure the powder is fully dissolved before feeding.

Hi
Ok so i have been changing socks every second day , and a small water change , tank was looking better till tonight , and it has gone really cloudy , worse than at the day after feeding,
could this be a type of bloom etc? and what do i do ? a few bigger water changes etc?
