My phosphates in my last few tests were:

10.24 - .11ppm
10.25 - .06ppm
10.26 - .07ppm

Yesterday I feed the tank about 1/2 the recommended amount of reef roids and tested about an hour later. My Hanna Checker said .88ppm. This freaked me out so I tested again and it was .80ppm

I tested this morning again and its .44 luckily I have a refugium running really good at the moment and some phosguard in the system because I was fighting to get under .05ppm so now I think I found the culprit. Is this normal has anyone else had this issue? I read a few others on here but not to many which seems surprising since this was such a big jump.

Known issue. Try Benereef instead.

The reef roids is very fine and probably in suspension for a long time after feeding. I wonder if your test reading is skewed because you are getting the food in your sample water.

the fact that it went from .8 to .4 overnight tells me something is going on with testing. I would try again in a day or two and see if your back to the level prior to feeding the reef roids.

Your probably right in regards to the roids still being in suspension. The water was cloudy but regardless I was .07 so even jumping to by the next day .44 is pretty huge. I will test again tomorrow for sure.
