Reef Roids?

I have never used the ROIDS! LOL!

Yes, it is a funny name, isn't it :)

I've been using this product for about 2 months and I find it very good. It's the only food I've tried that elicits a feeding response from all my Zoa/Paly types and my Red Planet Acro gobbles it up especiallly well. What I have found is that it's best to use just a little bit mixed with a small amount of tank water and target feed, so a little jar goes a really long way (for a Nano aquarium at least). If the concentration is too much it gums up the polys in my Acros and they will start to slime. Too much also caused a bit of hair algae to increase, but didn't seem to impact cyano much in my tank.

Thank you NS :) I'm using 1/8 tsp a week, mainly target feeding. Started because I'm hoping to get some color into my Birds Nest. To much you think? I don't have many corals. 12 or so, just the 1 SPS all others are LPS.

The product works very well for me however I do broadcast feeding using my return as the dispersing mechanism. I have been using this product since January when I won it at a swap.

How much water volume? I use about 1/3 of what you are using per week for a 12g with a pair of Acros, Zoas and a boat load of 'Shrooms.

Well that settles it. 3-4 months ago I fed Reef Roids to my then 1 month old tank. Wound up with an entire SB just covered in what I thought at the time was Diatoms. Didn't at the time think the Reef Roids had anything to do with it. But just to be on the safe side I stopped dosing any and all types of products containing phytoplankton and zooplankton. It took months to finally clear up!! Well heck, yesterday I dosed 1/8tsp of Reef Roids and guess what? Got up this morning to my entire SB once again covered in this copper colored stuff!! Due to LED lighting the dark areas are actually copper colored.

I've seen that before :)

Looks like you have plenty of nutrients in the tank, so you might consider not using Reef Roids until that's cleaned up again. Suggest just light feed the LPS some meaty foods once a week. Any fish? Do you vacuum the sand bed or turkey baste the live rock at all?

Just 2 fish. Turkey baste the rock 2-3x weekly. Only reason I dosed was this stupid Birds Nest I've been trying to color up-ugh! Won't be doing that again-lol. LPS are all doing wonderfully!!
Don't vacuum the SB as I have a Strawberry Conch who turns the entire 40B over in about 2wks time :) He's actually what cleaned it up the last time. Guess he's once again got his work cut out for him-lol.
