I would also like to add that how much a fish is fed can have an impact on what he preys on in your tank.

Yeah I cant have anything eating sps because im getting some expensive sps through trade.

I have several large angels in my reef tank known of them touch my sps. My I think its due to the mouth being big a those little polyps do nothing for them. I also have several dwarft angels they tend to nip

There are not. Most angelfish like to nip at corals. Some people with larger tanks put them in, but they usually have lots of large, established colonies throughout the whole tank. So the biting is spread evenly through all of the corals. If you put them in a new tank with some small frags and a colony or two, there is a good change your corals are going to be toast.

And I would not call a coral beauty reef safe.

I would agree with all said above. I have kept angels in my reefs now for around 8 yrs. Some will pick on LPS, others sps and most will eat zooanthids. But with a healthy, fully mature tank. Damage is minimal, and you must feed 2-4 times a day.

I have found it is 50/50 with ALL fish as to whether they will nip corals (well maybe 75/25). I have owned fish that were "reef safe" that constantly nipped at corals and I have owned fish that people said would absolutely destroy my coral that never went near them. I was a rebel back in the day, if someone told me I couldn't do something I would immediately try it. I did always have multiple tanks running so I could move things around if needed. What works for some does not work for others. You will need to do some research, weight out the risks and rewards, figure out a plan B just in case it is needed and make the best decision you can.

For the record, I have never been able to keep a Coral Beauty in a reef tank, but I did keep an XL Queen Angel in a 75 gallon reef tank for several years with no problems. I love this hobby!
