Can someone please tell me if some hermit crabs that won't bother coral. Im about to go to the fish store and want to try this cuc hermit crabs over again. 2 weeks ago I bought 4 and 2 were eating coral polyps and killed 2 corals and the other 2 were standing all over them to eat the algae on the plugs. I feel like the little dwarf red/blue legs would be but my lfs sells them for 5$ ap. Anyone that has experience in this help me out PLEASE! Thanks.

My blue legs do a great job of cleaning. I can always tell where they are by how clean the rock. Red legs are great too, I just like blue for some reason. Halloween are nice too, but usually a bit more expense and not at my LFS.

Hermits are crabs so there is always a chance but. Scarlets and blue legs are your best bet.

They still are not snail safe. They will use for shells or an extra meal. Keep only enough to be helpful and keep extra shells. 1 hermit per 5-7 gallons or so. That way they eat what is in the tank and not competing for one another

Thanks for the fast replies guys. It sucks the answers you told me were the ones that are 5$ my lfs actually has Halloween hermits now and everytime I want to get one because I love the way they look but they are 15 a pieces.

Live Aquaria sells them three for thirty in the divers den section if you really want the Halloween’s. They are my favorite for sure. Super colorful and neat shells.
One day when I make a big purchase from there, so I'm not spending the same amount for shipping as I am the crabs. Thanks for the info. I will definitely use that to my advantage.
