What materials are safe to put in our aquariums? By which I mean won't leach any toxic substances or otherwise cause issues, silicates, etc.

Obviously the rock we all use, the various types of substrate, pvc, food grade plastics, super glue that sort of thing.

What about other materials like ceramics, other types of rock, metals, that sort of thing.

I believe I have seen flower pots used to make caves and hides, but I could be wrong.

Right or wrong, I use “for potable water use” as a criteria for many plastics. For Rubbermaid trash cans, I only use the white ones to hold water, and I never use off brands.
