Hello,

I'm in the planning phases of a 75G tank that I would like to eventually include several types of coral so I would like "relatively" reef safe fish. I'm a relative newb, so need some help with fish. My family and I tend towards the more colorful/"unusual" looking/good personality fish. I really would like a Kole Yellow Eye Tang, eventhough I know they can be semi-aggressive (but can be regarded as one of the most peaceful tangs). I'm also leaning towards the possiblility of adding some of these: esquite firefish, green/red mandarin, and a pair of black & white clowns...any problems with these? Any other recommendations?

Also needing suggestions for CUC. Prefer: something besides snails (although I'm sure I'll have some in there) and no crabs.

Thanks!!!!

You could go with some wrasse's and / or some anthias, cardinals. I always go to Live Aquaria. when you select a group of fish there's a couple of dropdowns on the right where you can filter for temperament and reef safe.

The mandarin will need to be added after the tank has been established and there are lots of pods. I would suggest a refugium tank or chamber to give pods a predator free zone. I would also suggest a royal gramma as they are peaceful and have some great colors.

The kole tang is probably the most size appropriate tang for a 75g.

Wait 6+months for the mandarin for the pod population to stabilize.

Flasher and fairy wrasses add color and activity.

Royal gramma, yellow assessor, chalk bass, midas blenny, flame hawk are all possibilities as well.
