What are some reef safe scented candles/smells/etc? Is there even such a thing? Are the natural essential oil diffusers reef safe? If so which natural oils are specifically reef safe for the essential oil diffuser? We've read so many threads where most of the fish were killed by those glade scented plugins...

Well, in my case, I'm the "wifey" and the reefer.;)

My reef tank has been running for almost 5 yrs. and I use scented plug-ins and scented candles in the same room with my tank and have never had a problem. To be clear, my house is an open floor plan so the fish room is not closed off at all. I've also used spray aerosols (sparingly) in the rooms next to my tank, again with no issues.

I'm not sure where these horror stories originate, but I just haven't had any problems with scented items in my home. I hope I'm not jinxing myself now...

What I would do is go for the non-plug in ones. Just the cone shaped ones you twist open as they tend to be more mild.
