I know acetone is the most popular method of doing so, but Im not sure if acetone is safe, obviously I can rinse it off later since the tank isn't filled yet but
I also do have a bottle of "paint remover" or something along the lines of that (for art), and it seems to be mainly comprised of mineral spirits, would that be safe to use?
Is there anything else I should look for?

Razor blading it ime isnt very effective so

Soudal silicone remover, or similar....

Texo worked great for me, smells like oranges, "paint" it on silicone, left 15min, then just wipe, leaves perfectly clear glass, its easy to wash with water and detergent, then good rinsing and no problems at all....

Of course, remove as much u can with blade then apply silicone remover....
