What kind of stuff do ya'll like to buy from Home Depot for your reef tank?

Did buy orange buckets for mixing/changing water, but then found "food safe" white ones at Lowes for same price. Not sure if HD buckets leach anything, but food safe has to be a good idea, especially if you store water for awhile.

Everything PVC, Silicone (only two "safe" kinds....plain GE Silicone I for glass and "Plastic" Silicone for acrylic/plastics to whatever), Nylon nuts, bolts, washers, etc (use to have a very nice selection in the drawers in hardware....now very limited). I also purchased stainless steel screws to replace the ones on a ten+ year old MAG pump that had rusted away.

OP, what are you trying to get from Home Depot? Is it outaidenof the lists above? Silicone caulk is one you definitely have to be careful with and not get ones with additives to fight mold. And if it’s epoxy, just get a reef safe one to be sure..

Pvc, gamma lids, john guest fittings. Used to buy Bayer insecticide there, but now only Lowes carries it. Electrical items, wood, paint, drill bits (glass), superglue, and other odds n ends occasionally.

@Flexin, you reminded me....I also get Rectoseal Epoxy putty from HD as well.

I knew there was an epoxy that worked, but was not sure of which one. The others can be toxic. Also, if they ever changed their formula, it's not something they have to disclose. It's not worth it on my tanks...

im at home depot right now..is there anything else I can get at home depot to use for the reef tank?
