Reef Safe Turtle?

Always wanted a turtle and thought, "man wouldnt it be cool to have a turtle in my tank"

Pretty sure it would out grow my tank fairly fast but I was just wondering is there anyone keeping a marine turtle? I would never keep a turtle in my reef tank, but wanted to see if it was possible.

If anyone does, do you have pictures of the one in your tank?

+1 you cant even touch them when they are on the beach let alone keep them in your house. Just get some freshwater turtles. They are fun to. I have three. They are fun to watch. Always hungry.

i must note i did say i personally would never kept them as i said in my first post. I just thought it would be cool.

That’s different. Public aquariums can get permits as can legitimate turtle research facilities.

I was thinking of getting a dolphin for my nano.
J.K. He was just being curious if anyone who has a huge tank has ever had one. He was obviously unaware of the laws. No big deal, people are so quick to attack sometimes.

Sea turtles are real cool, I can see why he would be interested to see if its ever been done. He stated many times he was just asking. Then next thing you know the reef Police jump on him about legalities.

i knew they were illegal in hawaii... but there is a possiblity some species might be legal (for example brackish turtles).

And yes, I have seen the turtles at Maui Ocean center. I also dove in turtle town.

In batangas, PI i was educated on how to deal with the turtles around us. Did see so many there but plenty in our other travels.

Again, I am not encouraging keep marine turtles.
