Hey everyone learning all the hitchhikers slowly. Are these guys reef safe? Or helpful?

Another possibility: sand skaters. There's a good up-close photo in the second post of this thread.

Oh, yep- that's one of the scavenging isopods. It's basically an aquatic pillbug/roly-poly, or, really, pillbugs are the land version of these. Pop him back in the tank.
