Any obvious risks to using something like RedSea salt to purge clams or keep crabs alive before consumption? I see certain seafood restaurants using stuff like IO in their tanks. Is there a GRAS designation for reef salts?

Seems like the NaCl component is natural but a lot of the other minerals are added. I see that they emphasize "food grade salt" for the NaCl component. Sounds like they just buy sea salt meant for food for their mix to me.

While it is technically fine to use seawater (obviously), I personally would not use a hobby salt mix for something that I ate due to concerns about possible impurities by mistake.
