So I received a quote from Reef Savvy for an 180g aquarium that is in line with what I expected, but as you might imagine high compared to what I can get from say a MarineLand/Perfecto tank. In your collective opinion what are the pros of spending of the extra $ for a Reef Savvy (with ghost overflow) vs. a less expensive option?

If you are to keep it for years, yes definitely worth it. For resale value, no tank holds its value. So just know you're buying a tank and you most likely will not get what you paid for it.

Tanks are like new cars. They depreciate the moment you buy it.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Why would anyone sell there tank?
But I hear you, if its something I'm planning on having around for a while, which I am, it would be worth the investment. I guess that's really how I should be thinking about it, as an investment.

I would get a quote from Miracles . They tend to be pretty well priced and their quality is top notch.

Also keep in mind delivery time. I ordered my reef savvy in June 2015 and still waiting ...

As I just found out they quoted me 6-7 month wait time. So Is worth the extra cost and wait time. I mean it's a glass box right (I'm playing a little devils advocate here).

It depends on your situation. It was what I wanted and I'm using the wait time to leisurely plan out the rest of the build. Like it was said above, this is my last tank before I retire and I plan on running it at least 6 years. So kind of my dream build ... The quality is top notch.
