reef snow-left out for 3hrs... still good?

So, I accidentally left my reef snow on the counter for a couple hours. Is it toast? Should I toss it?

Wait, ignore everything I said above!! I'm thinking Marine Snow, which is absolutely worthless. I'm not familiar with Reef Snow, which may be a completely different product.

Thanks... But I am pretty sure I just remembered it wrong and it is in fact the worthless Marine Snow. yep, just goggled the image and it is.

Why is it worthless? Just out of curiosity.

Every time I use snow anything in my tank I get a cyano bloom... I stay away from that stuff haha...

Just to add my $.02, I agree with Troylee. I would just put 5-6 drops in my 46gl bf and then a couple of days later have cyano overtake my tank. Thought it was something else causing the problem. I quit using the stuff and no more cyano problems..... Anyone want a almost full bottle of Reef Snow for free???

What are you guys using to feed filter feeders? If anything?

I've used Marine snow without any issues,I only use about half the recommended dosage and I only dose couple times a month if that,I add Zooplex and Phytoplex from Kent more often than the Marine Snow but I use it lightly too...when you have fish in there,their poo helps with feeding the filter feeders so I don't think you need to add as much other stuff....JMO

Fish will make it easier. I just use Rod's food and oyster eggs. Feed the fish and the filter feeders get the smaller particles. I shave thin pieces of my Rod's food to get some small pieces in there for the filter feeders.

+1 on the Rod's and Oyster Feast(use the OF very sparingly, it doesn't take much). Fauna Marin also makes some very good products for filter feeders. I personally put my Rod's in a small blender when using it to feed my corals

In regard to Marine Snow, I don't know how well it works for corals. I bought several bottles when it was on sale for $8.00 and tried it. It never caused any cyano problems for me and I did discover that it's a good product to use in my refugium, along with phyto. Seems to work pretty well in that regard

Is this Brightwell Reef Snow? If so then it does not require refrigeration.
