Reef Tank Flooring

I’m going to put my tank on a carpeted floor. I’m thinking I’d like to build a laminate floor over the carpet to put the tank on. I’m thinking something out of 2x4s covered in plywood and the flooring. I’ll probably have cabinets on each side holding electronics and ATO. Anyone have something similar or ideas?

Water over carpet! Water wins.... If you are trying to build a base to protect the carpet.. the tank just like a pool table will leave a dent that wont go way.

Its not a matter of "IF" you have a major leak of water on the floor but WHEN. 99.9% guarantee.

Your plan should be to plan for at least 25% of your tank to wet the floor sometime down the line due to some chain of events....

My house is on a concrete slab. I’d like to get rid of the carpet but that’s not realistic for a long time.

If it were me I would put the tank down... beach towels during maintenance.
