I'm planning on setting up a low maintenance (and low budget) reef tank the only coral I will be putting in it will be pulsing xenia. I have a nicrew led light that can switch between blue and white light that is intended for fresh water planted tank and I was wondering if that would be e enough for the xenia. Ideally I would like the coral to take over the whole tank

It should be fine with xenia. Nearly nobody stops there, so you might need more eventually. You can also be on the lookout for older, used reef lighting on the local marketplaces. A 2 bulb T5 or a cheap Chinese Reef LED should be $20 or so and probably better.

thanks, do you know if it would also work with discosoma mushrooms (green and blood red), If yes i think i'll start out with the nicrew and upgrade my light once i decide on getting other corals for my tank
