Reef tank losses

I have my own opinion on this but I'm just curious on what others think.
Is it normal/"okay" for you to loose corals and fish in this hobby?
I'm a believer in learn from your mistakes but we are dealing with living animals here
I'd love to get your opinions on this.

Its gonna happen, to the best of em . Its par for the course. But hopefully you learn from it as always .

I think that it's a very unfortunate part of the hobby that many have to go through. They are living animals and we all try our honest best, but some things take experience to learn from. Some animals caught from the ocean just won't adapt to tank life, in my opinion that's a reality of wild caught animals. Until we get to everything being captive bred, its just what it is.

If a person does everything possible to make things as good and proper as can be then although its not 'okay' it is acceptable, the person has done all he/she can for the fish.
If a person starts a thread with 'why are my fish dead?' then post up params with ammonia 2ppm, nitrite 3ppm then that is definitely not okay.

It’s probably not OK, but it does happen. I have lost a lot of coral due to my mistakes, and lost others that went downhill and I couldn’t save. I have also lost a lot of new fish, that were probably already doomed when I got them.
