Is anyone using natural sea water mind sharing their experience? What are your results, how are you getting it? What's the process after collection? Etc

I have a buddy that uses it and loves it. I'm thinking about using ocean water myself to give myself an excuse to go to the beach, have a nice outing and hopefully help with the success of my 180 reef tank.

If there is a thread about this already, please let me know. Thanks

I used it when i first started my tank so I didn't have to wait for my tank to cycle, I also did water changes with it for a few months but it gets too expensive. I switched to HW Marinemix and won't ever use anything else! Love it!!

What size tank do you have and how did you collect the water? How was it expensive? Traveling cost I'm assuming.

I have a 75 gal. LOL i reread your thread I thought you said Nutriseawater. lol
I have thought of going out and collecting my own water too since I live right on the Gulf. Never have done it yet. I live in Destin and our water is crystal clear not sure if its safe to use it though?

Lol..no worries.

I tried filtered sea water from work a while ago and it was working fine but then corals started to look unhappy. They told me that the nutrients in the ocean water were different from the ones a reef tank needs since I'm in California. To be fair, the coral exhibit in the Aquarium use filtered sea water every day and it looks amazing (besides the fact they use 3 10,000w metal halides).
