hi All I’m in the process of building a reef tank. My question is would the depth of a tank matter. The demensions are 60 L x 24 h x either 24 d or 30 d. And my other question is should I have the side open view or no view for more lighting in the tank. I want to build this tank right

The difference between 24 and 30 is minimal. It really depends on how you want to aquascape, and what livestock you want. You can't really go wrong wither way, may just change how you arrange your tank and or what livestock you have room for. I have seen some people blackout the sides only to cover overflow. Typically you'd want to be able to have a side view. If you use proper lighting it won't be an issue as far as light is concerned.

My tank is 6 x 2 x 2. My arm reach is, or short sleeve size 35”, and I barely reach the back lower wall.
Side views are great. Extra work, but a totally different perspective

To me it's a trick question. I ALWAYS go with the largest possible dimensions and you should as well. My current tank is 36" front to back and it's awesome. Can I reach the back bottom ...... noop, not even close; but why would I need to.
