Reef Tank Throwback Thursdays!

Old 75 from 2011. Probably the last video before shutting it down. I really miss those clams

This tank was set up around 2006. Not my first but the only old pictures I have lol.. I’m locked out of my Photobucket.

This tank from 2009 had the most spectacular fish I have ever kept together. The tank was 2000mm x 750mm x 750mm, these pictures make it look very short so some reason. Looking back at these pics reminds me how poor cell phone cameras were and how poor my photography skills were and still are. My current tank which I have just built is based on this one but I am aiming to house SPS corals and a reduced fish stock density, this one was a little on the wild side.

It was a fish only system with
Emperor angel
Blue ring angel
Blue face angel
Majestic angel
Regal Angel
Picasso trigger
Lionfish
Maroon clown (big fella)
2 x Powder blue tangs
Achilles tang
Naso tang
Fox face
Sailfin tang
The bicolor angel was not mine, I was holding him for a few months.

I remember reading this in 1989 front to back like three times. Mind blown! Had my first reef setup in 1990. Wish I could find those old old photos!

Were the methods in that book similar to how we do stuff today?

My grandfather's fish store sometime in the early 60s. Pueblo Colorado.
That is really cool your grandfather was a fish store owner in the 60's! How long did he have the store?

Now y'all made me want to go dig through bins and bins of old pics for just a few here and there...:rolleyes:
Thanks @revhtree ...;):D

Guessing by the color of the DSB, tank was running yrs before 2008 ?
Oops, I realized when I went back for the 2nd pic that it wasn't 2008 but rather 2013. That sandbed was not as old as it looked in that pic. However I did have a 90 gallon before that, that had a 10 year old DSB and when I tore it down it smelled just like fresh salt water, no rotten smell at all. I have a tank now with a 6 or 7 year old DSB.
