I have a newly cycled 25 gallon IM Lagoon tank that has been up and running for 6 weeks. After the cycle was complete I decided to start with corals only and no fish. I am actually thinking that having no fish will make the maintenance of the tank easier without the daily feeding. I am doing 10% weekly water changes and spot feeding the corals every other day and they are all doing very well.

My question, is it possible to have a coral only tank and if so, what are the things I need to compensate for with no fish?

Thanks for the help

You will have to dose or feed the tank anyway. Corals need ammonia/nitrate/phosphate to survive. Usually those are provided by food/fish waste. In the long run I find I do more maintenance for my coral than I do my fish anyway.

I think that you can. This is what I am trying to do(when I get phosphate stable and where I want it, I plan to add corals). I am dosing ammonium and phosphate into a rubbermaid stock tank every twenty minutes during the photoperiod, and I have snails eating algae that is growing. I believe that I am adding at least a small amount of everything beneficial a herbivore fish, or a fish in general would add to a reef tank.
