I wanted to ask here if anyone knew what is the easiest way to lower magnesium in my tank. I don’t have fish or corals and the tank is just about 1 year cycled. I tested with a salifert test kit and it’s telling my my Mg is over 2300 but not sure how it’s that high as I am using Instant Ocean Reef Crystal. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Try a different test kit.. no way it’s that high.. it’s a testing error.

All Magnesium tests are very “finicky “, so to speak.
I struggled few times with Salifert and other test to get results, which would make sense. Any deviation from “standard procedures” may cause erroneous results and strangely in higher range. Unless you are dosing Magnesium?
