Reef Tek Elite Cooling Fans

I have a Reef Tek Elite 8 x 54w fixture that i just turned on. It has 2 cords that control 2 bulbs and 6 bulbs. The fans are not coming on, are they supposed to turn on when the lights do or is there a built in thermostat or what? I don't see an additional switch or cord for the fan. I was assuming they would turn on when either of the light switches are on.

There's a spot for a plug on the back of the light right near the power cords.
