So as one of my many hobbies I once tried my hand at watercolor. After many years away today I tried again, being a rainy indoor kind of day. It is not very good, but it was fun to do. It will take a lot more practice to get my chops back. (Admittedly I was not very good back in the day either.) Just thought I would share.

I never advanced past the add-water-to-the-pages-with-the-colored-dots-and-smear stage of watercoloring, so that looks great to me. I bet it would work well as a forum avatar.

On another note, inspired by this thread topic, does anyone have an answer to my son's question "can you color the aquarium water with food coloring"? Would anything survive? Would the survivors change color?

(I just told him "no, you can't," but I know some pet store fish are injected with dyes, so I'm wondering if the answer should be "you could, but it's not good for them.")

Goldfish have been living in colored water bowls since Christ was a child. I don't believe it would kill anything, but things like carbon would strip it in short order, and as it is artificial, long term may be an issue.
