How did everyone discover Reef2Reef? What was the one thing that surprised you once you joined?

I believe I was seeking reef groups and came across the name.

I was surprised how many topics were available. I have seen these topics more than double over the last decade

I found it while doing some general research about getting back into the hobby. The one thing I was surprised about is how helpful everyone is, hard to find these days, and those that have massive amounts of knowledge.

I found it after a hiatus from the hobby for a few years. When I came back and went back to the Arizona group on reefcentral, everyone was gone. Forum was empty and everything. There was like one person who messaged me saying everyone moved over to this forum for whatever reason. So that’s how I stumbled on over here

Club zoa… and getting booted off rc was the best thing that ever happened to me!

I was on thereeftank years ago when I got into reefing. It has slowed down over the years and I was recommended this place for a little bit more active forum. Loving it here!

Randomly through initial research getting into the hobby. I would google something and the answer always turned up here.

I believe back when I found it I was only involved with our local reefkeeping forums and wanted to branch out and found this one through a general search.

I forget which one it was, but a youtubers steps to setting up a saltwater tank had 'create a R2R account' as one of the steps.

Look at something on the internet . Then put in for forums and uk forums came up and reef 2 reef so I picked r2r best choice ever. I thought i was quite educated on reefing hobby but some of the people on here WOW knowledge and information outstanding. They say a old dog carnt learn new tricks you can at r2r. Also forgot friendly people willing to help each other.

I was active on a freshwater fish forum (fishlore) and when I got into saltwater, a member there recommended me to this forum. Been here ever since.

Back in the spring of 2006 on Reef Central I started seeing the name Club Zoa under users names of people I saw in the zoanthid forum. I got curious about why multiple people had the same thing in their profile and asked someone in a private message ( maybe revhtree?) and was told about a new forum called Club Zoa. Joined in 7/2006 and been here ever since.

Oh, and the color of everything here seemed pretty radical for a forum.

Scanning the internet for research, answers, etc and one question led to R2R. I watched and followed for a bit and liked what I was seeing so joined

I’m amazed how dead RC is now. Back in my day it was booming and the place to be and R2R was still a baby fledgling of a site. Quite the inverse now. I don’t bother looking at RC more than 2-3 times a month because I’m not missing anything.

I believe I went to RC in 2005-06 ish, and somehow got steered here and never been back. I think I may have 10 posts there total.

I was/have been/continue to be surprised at the wealth of knowledge and eagerness to help people with their issues on a daily! It is quite nice to see this given the way the world is today!

Saw it mentioned on some BRStv YouTube videos when I was first starting and trying to learn (((still am))).
