Reefbot arrived!

Very impressed with @Reef Kinetics @drernesto customer service answering the questions I had and the quick shipping direct from Lebanon.

Here it is:

I've already done several tests and it has performed brilliantly. I double-checked it with manual tests. This is going to save me a lot of time!

I've filled all 8 slots and am currently testing:

Cal
Alk
Nitrate
Phosphate

Which leaves me to just do Mag manually once a month or swap the vials around so the Reefbot can do it.

I had got a little lazy and was relying on manual Alk results over the last couple of months and presuming Cal and Mag were fine. I thought the Reefbot was wrong but it wasn't! My Calcium was getting very low. I've added 20ppm today and the Reefbot got it spot on

I've figured out that each test will cost the following:

11p/13.4c Alk Test
23.5p/28.6c Per Calcium Test
18p/21.9c Phosphate Test
30p/36.5c Per Nitrate Test

I'll probably do 3x Alk per week and the rest once per week. Total monthly cost will be around £4.18 / $5.09

They sure did. I have an Apex and like it very much but the additional testing of Nitrate and Phosphate and the fact that I can decide when and how many times I perform my tests to keep costs down from the Reefbot won me over.

Two days of no feeding and increasing the light schedule on the fuge dropped my Nitrates from 20 to 2! I didn’t quite believe it the first time so I re ran it today and backed it up with a different brand manual test. I need to start believing the Reefbot more! Now my Nitrates are a little too low.

This extra testing, that I was either too lazy to do or didn’t have the time, is really giving me some great insight in to my tank.

This will make me more in tune with the tank and it’s inhabitants and will make everything more stable. Well impressed!
