75g FOWLR for now... May add corals in a year or so. Reefbreeders Photon 48 were suggested - I have heard all good things about this light fixture and love LED's - any cons to this light? Does anybody not like it?

Depends on what you want out of the light. It is obviously not going to have the control or functionality of a Radion. Does it get the job done for a much nicer price? Absolutley. One thing I like about RB lights is that they are using neutral whites as well as cools. From what I have heard neutrals are a much better white for corals.

I'll tell you one thing. That is enough light for pretty much anything you want to keep in the future. Those Photons have a ton of LEDs on em. I am running a DIY fixture over a 75g and it has probably half the number of LEDs as that Photon48 and I have no issue with SPS. I actually have my fixutre turned down to around 50%.

Edit: Another nice thing about RB lights is that I believe they will customize the light for you if you want different colors or ratios in the fixture. Not 100% on that but I have heard peple say they will.

This is also true i just went with the basic layout and i love it.

I have one and love it too. saving 40 bucks a month by switching from 250 halides. growth is comparable to halides if not a tad better but colors of coral and even fish cant be beat. love em

Thanks everyone! I'm super excited now! Bummed that I missed out on the Holiday group buy, but I'll keep my eyes open for the next opportunity :)

I think the programmable portion of it is fantastic! Especially for a beginner like me!
