Hey guys. Running some photon v2s from reefbreeders on my Red Sea max 34 gallon cube. There are a few posts on other forums but I’d like to see if anyone here runs these lights and at what max settings.

Currently, this is my schedule. https://i.imgur.com/Iu05sjG.jpg. I’m getting sps growth on top of rock work currently but soft coral on bottom on tank is not growing at all.

The reefbreeder website says most people max out at 70 but some threads online say people are getting 500-600 par with these things at like 25 percent.

I know I need a par meter but was hoping someone had some ideas or past experience with these lights. Should I just keep increasing the light until I see bleaching? I worry about photoinhibition.

I just switched from V1 to V2 and am working my way up. Running a slightly modified "CoralLab AB+" I switched to a bit higher on white for look. I'm up to 11 on green and red, 14 on white, and 44 on all blue/purple. At 10/40 I was getting around 200 PAR on rocks about 10" below surface and 65 PAR ish on sand bed in a 27" deep tank. For whatever reason encrusting monti's have not liked either light but sticks and LPS doing fine.

On my standard 29 gallon with photon V2 24, I am maxing at 65 blues 18 whites and something like 5 red and 12 green. SPS and LPS. Things are doing pretty good. I wish it appeared a little brighter to me, but corals seem happy.

A couple months ago I was in the 70s on blue and like 30 on whites and it looked great to me but corals were not happy.

Also used to only be 6” off the water but got them up closer to 10” now. It’s better higher.

There are a couple bleached corals in the picture that got bleached a while back when the lights were too bright. Also had alk issues back then. Most of the good looking sps were added more recently. Everything is showing growth lately so time will tell.

Hope this helps I’m just figuring it out myself!

Yeah I’ve also noticed half of my encrusting montis seem to not like my settings as well.

Thanks. This does help a lot. I’ve been kind of planning on ending up at those numbers when I maxed out. I was just afraid going over 50% on blues would bleach my coral.

How fast did you increase blues. 10% per week?

Your whites are quite a bit higher than most peoples that I’ve seen. I’ve read that they are pretty powerful. I like a whiter look too but I think my whites up in the 30s was part of the cause of my past issues. Maybe also consider running the whites for less hours than the blues? Again I am no pro so please take this for what it’s worth!

Yeah I kinda thought the same and turned my non blue channels down to 24% to try and match the Coral ab+ schedule.
