so some of you may have seen my post as too should I switch my sps tank to led or just stick with halides

I made the choice to go with the reefbrite halide hybrid. and am going to try to do a good review of them here as I was not able to find much info from users on this product.
my tank is a 210 gallon all sps it's a young tank at about 10 months old and for the most part all corals are still frags and just starting to settle in so this should be a good way to review this product
I have always liked radium bulbs and for now plan to stick with them I run them for 7 hours a day I plan to go to 6 hours a day on the halides and run the xho blues for 10 hours and see how that goes.
I should have the new lights by tonight and will try to get as many pics as I can but for now I will end this post with a phone pic of the tank now with only 3 400 watt radium bulbs in luminarc reflectors

yes tank is 72-24-24
had a delay here as the cooling system on my truck decided to let go spent the day yesterday replacing everything

Back to the lights
so got the lights and I have to say the build quality is top notch perfect fit and finish.
at this point most of us know about reefbrite xho lights so this is more about the quality of the pendants and the coverage I know I could have just bought a led strip light or a DIY and saved a lot of money. but I really like the look of these lights it's a nice clean finished look
here are some pics of the lights out of the box

as you can see in the pics these are a nice pendant system i do want to say that these do not come with a halide bulb or ballast so if you do not already have a bulb and ballast you will need to spend around another $200 to get this going
so over all first impression is that these are top notch as far as fit and finish
I hope to have them up and running today and then we will start to find out how good or bad this light is. but let's face it its a halide bulb with led sup can't really go wrong any questions please ask.

ok have the lights installed
the coverage of the halides are just as good as I had with the luminarc at least visually.
and the xho led lights are giveing complete coverage so
Far am happy with the performance
time will tell if I see any benefit from the led lights other then liking them visually
so here are a few more pics first is with just the xho lights. second is with xho and 400 watt radium bulbs both pics were taken with my phone as the original before pics was

I will work on pics with a better camera
the tank in person is much brighter then the phone pic shows

Does a 24" tank really need 400 watts. I was just going with 250 on my 210 until I get leds.

no it does not
250 would be more then enough
I just have always used 400 watt halides
and I am happy with them

Any updates on these lights? How are you liking them? I am thinking about getting a set.

sorry guys had to take a break from things for a bit.
had some issues with the ac at the house the end of aug. could not keep the temp down on the tank so I gave in and went all led.

I can say for the little time I got to use the halide hybrids. I was very impressed with the color and light spread. I may go back too them soon

Hi, just curious as to what you did with the pendants. Im looking for a set in case you put them away and now looking to sell.
