Hey guys. I'm looking to supplement my 6 bulb 36" tek elite with a reefbrite. For those with experience with this any input would be great. I'm looking to see what size you would recommend and also the difference between the regular and XHO. How do you guys have them mounted and any pictures of your t5 reefbrite combos would be awesome.
Thanks in advance,
-Kevin

Look-up my tank thread for how I mounted mine. They bolt pretty easily right onto a T5 fixture, should be pretty straight forward with the Tek Light. The XHO is about 2x as strong, so it's pretty close to the power of a T5 bulb.

Regular blue reefbrite is fine. Xho isn't necessary. TruLumen is ok, but not as good in my opinion.

I was just looking at both and it seems the reefbrite has higher output. Thinking of trying 1 of the reefbrites and seeing how I like it and possibly adding a second if need be. Thanks again for all the input guys.

I think many of the LED strips are pretty low power an are meant more for accent. The XHO is meant to be strong enough to equal a T5 bulb. Mine run between 50-60w so that might even be stronger than a T5 if you consider that LED probably has higher output per watt than T5.

Agreed. I feel like one of the "lower power" strips will just be completely drown out by the 6 t5s
