Reefbrite xho blue par

Just checked my xho’s using an mq-500 sitting 12 inches above the tank.

At water line: 120
6” under: 72
12” under: 50
22” under: 40

Really? That seems awfully low.....
 
@Salty....I also have a Lux meter because of reading your threads on Lux to par conversions. I’ll take a reading of par and lux tomorrow in hopes of strengthening your conversion works.

Cool thanks. I metered at 12in fwiw.
Just need the lux really. Prob devide by 70.
I’ll probaly go see a friend who has them. I’ll need to buy beer now. Lol.
 
How would that be effected in water?

Ok here are the numbers:

At water light line with Halides 4” above tank: 1900 par. (Reading was take. With the probe just above the line. The picture is not when i took the trading.

6” below: 650 par

22” below and off to the side due to rocks: 300 par

I’m so confused. I thought it was read 102 @ 12”? How did the par jump to 600 measured in the water at 12” + 4” to the the light? Am I really blasting 600 par to the bottom of my 20 gallon long reef?
 
Hey so need help understanding all this I guess. How does 90,000 equate to par? Hey guess I’m concerned now seeing par ratings posted of 400 @ 12”? Didn’t expect these to be so powerful I guess. Right now I have 1 t5 blue plus, 1 actinic, & 1 reefbrite xho blue @ full blast about 3-4” above tank. Tank will b lps& softies. Too much par?
