I received my 1st order from Reef Cleaners (www.reefcleaners.org).
Usually UPS 10:30am delivery works out, but lately UPS is slacking (but FedEx is always late/bad here)... Fortunately, most everything seems alive and some was surprisingly perky right at receipt so no need to reach out to Reef Cleaners about late UPS delivery. Two snail shells seemed completely empty, but there seemed to be extra snails, so maybe that was purposeful (or maybe snails are seriously hiding). For my order, I picked out multiple snails individually based on descriptions, then went with a smaller than my tank size snail cleaner package. I also asked for 3 lettuce nudibranches (first time I've ever had lettuce nudis). There were LOTS of bags to unpack.
I'm already in love with my new nudis based on how cute they are. My gyres were off (other pumps on) for snail & nudi introduction, and upon turning gyres on had to readjust gyres a bit as some snails and a nudi went flying. Nudi took in stride, eventually landed among some rocks and rapidly began climbing back up. This might have been super perky nudi based on where it flew from (but they may have moved around overnight, so not really sure). I know eventually I will go back for replacement nudis at some future time (hope they live long! Current wrasse dying of old age, but new wrasse arrives from TSM Aquatics in October)
On order, they have a notes section and in hindsight I should have mentioned my hermits are small (perhaps considered very small) so when I do another future order from them I'll also ask for more shells but will note size in order notes. When I placed my order, company reached out by email to confirm, so that was another miss by me opportunity to mention hermit size. Don't think my hermits need new shell but I'll toss the smaller of the new shells in tank back so there are options (which I'll forget about - but I toss any & all old snail shells in same place)
I've been my main cleanup crew, continuing to pull hair algae, and hoping my new snails get busy eating. It will be nice to have a more active CUC living inside tank. @reefcleaners Thanks!
