Guy, i bought the reefer 170 and for the life of me cant seem to make the ATO work. even when the float valve is all the way down i dont see any water leaving the reservoir. any reefer owners can hopefully chime in?

Cheers

float switch could be bad, but chances are its a loose wire. just a guess though.

everything is connected properly. will check the booklet again today as the lgs installed the tank and not me

Hey Deus I Don't know the technical term but did you open the spin valve? If u look on the tube that connects the ATO to the float valve u should see a little plastic cap. It spins. Make sure you spin it to open the valve and allow water to flow.

Even if the float valve is open, the spin cap may be closed all the way. I found this pic: http://digital-reefs.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/IMG_4708web.jpg u can kind of see the white cap on the black tube, its actually another valve.

This is if you want to drain your sump without also emptying your ATO. not sure if this is what you are running into or not but worth checking.

Yes use the spin value. I have the 170 as well. Just unscrew it until it's basically falling off. The ball valve will do the rest. I have to refill the ato every two days.

i think i have finally figured it out. so now i can use my jbj ato on my fusion10 that i just got. thanx for the help!!
