I have reefer 170 and one of the pipes under the stand is leaking. It is the main drain pipe. Here is a picture of where it is leaking. What part do I need to order to fix it?

I don't see any head gaskets on their site for a replacement part

It's the seal from overflow to sump correct?

yes, I was replacing the red sea valve with a gate valve and not it leaks. Not sure if I tightened it too much or what. Not sure if the pipe is cracked or not.

When I was screwing it back on I did hear a little cracking sound so I stopped

It is leaking right in the middle of the red circle on the picture

You can get some primer and pvc cement to fix it, but that's a temporary solution and might cause a bigger problem later. I would just order a new head gasket from amazon prime. Will get it the next day.

They are called bulkhead, not sure what size you need but I would guess 1 1/2

I don't think you can put a regular bulkhead on the red sea reefer series tanks. they have a build in one.

I would just buy a whole new down pipe. The crack sounds like it can be a hardened gasket or the actual plastic nut cracking.

The leakis above that part.
And I replaced that part with a gate valve anyway. Got tired of constantly adjusting the thing.

I believe it comes with as a whole. Pipe/bulkhead nut and coupler/gasket. You can always contact them and ask them if they'll sell just the bulkhead.

Mine leaked initially in the same place, near the ring at the top. I put a silver sharpie mark on the down pipe for reference because when you tighten the bottom (ccw) it can cause the top to rotate, loosening the fitting in the tank. So hold or apply clockwise pressure when tightening the bottom fitting.

Same can happen if you push the drain against the glass, it will loosen the tank fitting. A fraction of a turn is all it takes.

If it cracked, yeah, you'll need the downpipe, i believe the parts are RSR42201 or RSR42208. 01 is emergency drain and 08 is the overflow.

If attaching your own gate valve on the bottom of the downpipe it is just the bottom fitting R42221 plus a 3/4 threaded adapter. Use ABS to PVC transition cement and thread on quick if doing that. No leaks at that joint. Dont use that up top though.
