Reefer 170 sps dominate question!

What wrong with running gfo isn't it supposed to hell you reduce phosphate?!
It is supposed to help you reduce phosphates. Corals also need phosphates to grow. If you have low phosphate and/or run too much GFO you can strip all the phosphate out of your water and kill your coral. Trust me, I know this! Lots of little coral skeletons to prove it.

Now, I haven't run GFO in over a year and still have very low phosphates. Coral are actually growing!

I'll probably just gonna run carbon on mine for the water to be clear for now

GAC is the one thing I feel is great to run unless you have a specific reason not to. I think that is a good idea.
I run filter socks, a skimmer, GAC, and grow chaeto. I don't seem to need to do anything else.

Another vote here for stability. Invest in test kits and be patient. Nothing good comes from rapid change in your new tank.
