Hi
Any suggestions for a small heater and it’s placement in a Red Sea reefer 250 ?
I’m currently using a eheim 200w stuck to baffle from skimmer to black foam section but even the 200w is too long and protrudes pass the filter socks.
I have a reef octo 110 in the skimmer section and some siporax and that’s it compartment is full.
I was thinking about adding a reactor and/or a ALR1 in the future but would have to fit externally.
Also struggling to position my ghl sensors.

The cobalt neotherms are great heaters that come in a compact form factor they're flat to fit into tight spaces.

I have mine in the space between the glass where the bubble trap sponge is supposed to be. 150 watt jager/eheim

For the longest time I had a finnex titanium tube heater. They seem to be shorter than most other heaters of similar wattage. I was able to fit mine in the skimmer chamber no problem. I had it suctioned to the overflow wall that goes into the bubble trap. Skimmer and carbon reactor are in front of that.

As of late. I moved that heater and an additional jager heater to the actual display for ease of maintenance in the sump. Not pretty by any means, but easy maintenance was more important.

I might try a jäger 150w in air trap compartment but I’m not sure the 150w will be enough as my room drops to 16C at times.

If 150w isn’t enough could I put another heater in the same place. Would this work??

You should have at least one heater that has a wattage in range of your tank size. Having a second smaller wattage heater is always a good idea as a backup. I have 2 and set my smaller one 2 degrees below desired temp so that it is not being overworked and literally there in case of emergency.

I keep mine in the overflow box. Use to keep it in the sump but the overflow is easier to manage.

forgot to mention it is a 300W heater

My room temperature fluctuates between 16 c at night and 20 during the day. For me it is enough.
